And the season's first fish is....
....a foot long largemouth followed by a few chunky bluegills.
I had to get out and wet a line. I stopped by a very shallow pond on the way home tonight and figured that the recent warm spell would have the fish moving. There weren't as many as I thought, but I now officialy have the smell of fish on my hands.
Feels good, and it will only get better. :)
Let the games begin!
I got my first largemouth of the season today as well. This one was also about a foot long. It hit a purple rabbit strip with a little flash and a brass conehead. I saw a few others but only caught one. The fish were in a small channel that leads from the Housatonic River to a very shallow pond.
