Leaders: 60/20/20 rule

Yo Juro,
You said:<i><font color="FF0000"> "I use the 60/20/20 rule with compounded tapers for longer leaders...."</i></font><!--color-->

Can you explain how that works? Thank You

Terry

Terry:
I think it's 60% butt, 20% mid section taper, 20% tippet

RE:Leaders: 60/20/20 rule

... where the 60% is split 60/40, the taper is split into three even pcs for drylines, and the tippet is one piece unless really long when I split the tippet 40/60. (anal)

For sink tips, I either go three solid pcs -or- split the taper into two even pcs to get the tippet to the lb # I want.

Every pc graduates down. Maxima makes it real easy - #test instead of diam.
