NrthFrk16 I have the pleasure of having a couple of Brian's flies sitting on my desk and I will tell you, they look even better in person!

...and not only is Brian a Hell of a tier but he is a great caster as well.

BTW-An ironic note of sorts...we have two Brian's (they both spell their name B-r-i-a-n) on Flytalk (Doublespey and highlander2), both of which drive the exact same model, exact same color pickup. Plus both are great Speycasters! WEIRD!! The Twilight Zone theme music

highlander2 Flytyer

They are both red, my photography is seriously lacking I really need to work on that. Still trying to figure out this digital camera thing.

Thanks, Brian

flytyer Brian,

Yeah Baby! This is what I call a fishing fly!

Let's hope flies like this will cause people to get a serious case of SPEY FLY MADNESS.

One question: is the hackle wing and ostrich butt red (as it appears in the photo) or hot orange?

Beyond Sweet

Stunning fly. Absolutely, positively, without a doubt... stunning!

Think I'll go wallow in my mediocrity. (grin)

Brian: This is why all I did last Wed. was watch you tie. I have a long way to go.

highlander2 Speydoc

Yes, hackle is Bep dyed black and throat is silver pheasant, however have also used widgeon and it looks o.k just a little more subdued.

Thanks, Brian

red rocks spey

originally tied for the snoqualmie for fishing a favorite pool that has just the right current and bottom structure for a spey fly. Adapted from the black dog into a crossover pattern without the complex wing, this was the result.
