LOL Sean

Been there myself. I think the first few years my kids were really little was the least fishing I did. Probably because my ex had NO mother skills, and don't know if the kids would've been here if I didn't stay home more (why I have full custody of the kids now).

Your days will come. Then they will be your fishing buddies. Mine are dying for me to take them out. Hopefully soon. But will wait when good #'s are in and have access to a boat (since all my good motor boats are gone). But, in the end, they'll make your fishing better.

sean Leland you are killing me!!! It is looking like I may not even get a chance to fish the migration this year. Did not know babies were so much work.

OC let me know if you need/want any company chasing those silvers next month.

I have a Meiser 10'6" switch rod being built for overhead casting that is gonna be a terror on the fish. I will be itching to try out in a few weeks.

I am also looking forward to the unveiling of the miyawaki beach tamer Juro has in the works. Next year to fish are not gonna have a chance.

OC Juro,

You just got to get those rods up and running. I bet within 5 years they will be common place out here but I want one soon at least for next year. Get the revolution going and good luck in doing so!

Been waiting for the entire Hood Cannal to open and the silvers to move south of the bridge, rain please. Spotted just one school of silvers in the last 3 weeks whacking bait. Pinks moving south in their usual way.

And it sounds like the popper man knows how to have fun where ever he fishes.

juro Sounds like a BLAST! I had to make a similar pirouette recently at the boneclave at the hands of a large king or spanish (looked too big for spanish) on the larger cousin of the "Leland" beach rod.

I've got the all-arounder prototype in hand, a 10'8" 9/10wt. Next will be the puget sound model. Sounds like we need to speed up the prototype process for ya!

A 3-Star Day in Area 9

Five of us had a terrific morning fishing through the minus low near PNP. One of us (guess who) fished a popper and the other four switched back and forth from the dark side to the "enlightened" side. It's hard to tell how many follows the others were getting down below but I had all the excitement my little heart could take.

I used a 10' Scott 8wt today. I was getting out there but I sure wished I had a new CND two-handed "Puget Sound Beach Rod" with a floating head. I fished a slow two-handed retrieve punctuated by little hops. As soon as I picked up a follow, I hopped, gurgled, stopped, sped up, slowed and sped up again all the way in to the rod tip. The takes were close in and the coho were all between 4 and 6 pounds. They cartwheeled into the air almost instantly and a few jetted between us back towards the beach which required a 180 degree pirouette. Pretty fun stuff while it lasted.
