Dble Haul Thanks Jim. I've done an extensive search, and I haven't really found anything that will beat my Evinrude's owners manual. There are some adult education classes offered quarterly around here, and if I remember correctly one of them has to do with small or outboard engines. I'll keep my eyes open.

Now to catch some fish!

JimW I'd go for the shop manual for your make and model of outboard. The Johnson book I got is excellent.

Outboard reference books

Now that I'm a boat owner, I'd like to get my hands on a book or two about outboard engines. I know quite a bit about them, but I don't know everything pertaining to maintenance, troubleshooting, etc. And I'd like something beyond the brand user manual.

Is there a good title out there, say something that would fall under the umbrella of Outboards 101? I'm sure there are titles on Amazon, but I'd prefer to have feedback on some books that any of you have used yourselves for reference.

Thanks.
