Roop Tod- you should stop by for a beer and we can make some plans - I'll be wrapping up the wiring this weekend.

Tod D Roopster - A la Adrian, I tied up some smallish, shrimp-like flies on size 4 tinned eagle claw hooks. Have not fished them, but they seem like they may be the ticket. I'll send a couple over your way if you'd like... TD

Dble Haul FWIW, Adrian's pattern is in the Warmwater Archive under the title "PB". It looks pretty darned good.

flyfisha1 Roop - Crab larvae, called zoea (if I recall correctly), are very similar in appearance to small, clear shrimp with an extended rostrum (the spine sticking out of the shrimp's head).

juro Adrian (who is having fun in the sun) came up with a very innovative crab hatch pattern I've been curious to see applied to the situation you describe. Might come up in searches... but I am sure he'll reply when he returns.

He picked a good week to get out of dodge!

FishHawk Try a size 4 fly that matches †he color and shape. Make the body round and a wing with some flash. Worked for me. FishHawk

Crab hatch fly?

Ran across a crab hatch, I think, last season. The stripers were in gin clear water sipping and rolling - couldn't buy a hit.

Thinking of tying something small and clear - size 6 or 8. Any suggestions?
