Well I suppoose you boys have been kept in suspense long enough. Your thumbs are blistered from going through McClane's all night and you are undoubtably at wits end.
The answer is Microgadus tomcod,frost fish or Tommy Cod. It's somewhat of a forgotten anadromous fish they migrate up our rivers begining around november through january to spawn. When they were abundant they were an important over wintering food for both the Bald Eagle and our good freind the Striped Bass.What the hell this has to do with fly fishing I have not the foggiest idea. Oh well
