The fishing partner question is an interesting one. When I started out steelheading, my fishing partner relationship was almost like some sort of marriage. All sorts of explicit and implicit obligations along with attendant issues of loyalty and trust, etc. Now my fishing partners are more like an extended family. There are many people I can count on to be reliable, steadfast and companionable in the outdoors, and these people are treasures beyond price.
