Fly Swap-Special- Flat Wings

Ah so...Sushi on the fin, so to speak...

All I can say is that winter is way too long! I'll see you and Tod in the spring, God willing.

Looking for fishing reports soon.

Best regards,

JimW Doc,
Too funny. Bring the 2x4 along, we can use it to brace my back if I can hook up on another one of those tuna.

No but I have an old 2x4 I could put guides on...

A 15 wt.? What are you cooking up?

Best regards,

JimW Doc,
Sounds good. Even with the boat I don't think I'll be giving up on yak fishing, it's just too fun. BTW or should I say BBFT - have you got a 15wt?

Tod D Hey there Doc! Keep meaning to write to you, but manage to find another excuse. Hope the Jersey fall treated you well.

We definitely have to make another sortie or two when you're back up this way. This time though I'll get you into some fish - ok, Jim W will... but I'll be there! We've been discovering some terrific places that seem perfectly suited to some 'flatwing fishing'.

jimS John, if it isn't too late, count me in on the flatwing swap.

Hey Tod and Jim,

If I bring some flatwings to share and my 'yak, can a Joisey boy play too?

Happy New Year, Tod. Looking forward to fishing with you again, flatwings or no.

Best regards,

JimW Tod, one for each rod should do.
Saquish rip+ mid-may+ a fly that looks better than the local herring = Tons-O-Fun.

Tod D Oh Jim, you're too kind. I'm blushing...

I've got 5 dozen with your name on them if it means getting out in that Hydrasport!
01-15-2003 02:13 PM
JimW Yup, count me in on this. I'm really looking forward to seeing all the patterns that come out of this one.

I saw some of Tod D's work and I've got to say anyone would be lucky to get one if his entries.

Boar, you can enter twice if you really want to. :hehe:

BirdFish I'll get in on this, too.

boarmountain Sounds like a cool color. Should make a nice flatwing
01-15-2003 11:44 AM
DFix kinda like a green/black. Spirit River makes a yak hair in what they call a herring green; I also have a neck or cape in 'furnace', which is irridescent green/black.

boarmountain Dfix,
Describe "herring " green. I'm not sure what you mean by that color. The other colors you mentioned sound great.
01-15-2003 08:59 AM
DFix I'm thinking about lighter shades of green and green/gold or these next mentioned colors for mine.

Mike, what about a herring green, if I can find one, over lavender or purple over yellow or a shade down of gold/green - how does that look in your mind's eye?
