Pony bead shad darts

Here's another simple use for the pony beads.

Hook: 3XL size 6
Thread: 6/0, color to match pattern
Tail: Bucktail
Body: Ice chenille
Head: Round pony bead with prismatic eyes

A dip in Softex seals the deal. The ice chenille is wrapped all the way to the hook eye, providing a great base for the bead.

These two colors are my personal favorites for American and hickory shad.

Edit: I've placed these in the warmwater archive because most of my experience with shad has been in fresh water, far up rivers.
