Enjoyed some time on Lake Onieda in NY fishing for Walleye, bass and sunfish. I tried fishing abit using my fly rod and clouser minnows, But after most of the morning without a strike I switched over to a spinner worm harness and started hooking up.
Big bass jumping out of the water much of the morning in 12-35 feet of water. Not sure what they were feeding on But it was nice to see big fish pop up here and there.
Fished along the drop off in 12-22 ft deep around north bay west of the channel by a mile or so. Found fish over the weed bed and near the drop offs.
Both evenings I found fish feeding on minnows on the sand bar area. Wouldn't brave the lighning bolts or abandon the great food and drink to chase them though.
Despite all the negative publicity about zebra mussles they seem to be cleaning the water up abit. Certainly ot a bad thing from what I saw.
