striblue Mark...great to see these posts...build up the archive for trout flies...this one might be perfect on the flats...Nice little shrimp pattern in a way also.

Dble Haul
Yarn hoppers

This is a hopper pattern that I like because of its simplicity.

Hook: Dry fly, sizes 8-14
Thread: Rust, 6/0
Tail: A few fibers from a partridge feater (or other quill)
Body: Poly yarn, orange or yellow
Wing: Turkey quills, paired
Hackle: Any standard dry fly quality hackle, nuetrally colored

Not only is this fly easy to tie, it's easy to see on the water with the bright yarn body.
