But Willie, "the greater we" have just got to know...
do you where a kilt when you're on the river. And, if so, isn't a bit 'drafty?'

No just a nasty rumour
As your Scottish representitive I must point out that this is a total and outragous lie, it is just we are much superior anglers and modest with it.
PS I forgot to mention good looking, brilliant and superp casters

Scented flies or any kind of scent on the angler on one of the FF only no kill rivers I fish is verboten. Maybe I could rub Gummie Bears on them and then pass them off as my lunch to the DNR officer if I was ever checked ?
Just a thought, got to go back to work, now.

Seems to me we exhausted this one a couple of weeks ago with the thread on pheromones. Those wily Scots use all their natural resources.
Didn't know about ham, though.

Hope those fisherman don't used barbed hooks...
Try explaining THAT in the emergency room!

Don't mean to ruin your post but I saw another strange quirk on the ESPN flyfishing show. It was one of the qualifying rounds for the outdoor games for flyfishing and there was a guy who swore by rubbing his flys in ham. He kept a pouch of ham that he would rub his flys in and then take a bite.
To each their own but I next time I'm out you may find my wife sitting on a package of ham wrapped around my flys.

Scottish Fly Fishing Superstition?
On the Today Show (where I get all my quality news and gossip ), Matt Lauer was in Scottland and Katie said that one of their researchers heard that Scott's had their wives "sit on their flies" before using them?
I've never heard this before - anyone know the background to this, or if it's even true?
