RE:Finally Got One

What a great way to kick off the new millennium! So far so good

I get the feeling the next several weeks are going to be good. I hope to be out from March 30 - April 5, provided no SNAFU's. Hopefully we can hook up, if not let's plan for fall (late August - early Sept).

Congrats!

Finally Got One

Too late for Juro's contest and I didn't have my camera, anyway, but...
My friend Rick just got a new doublehander and wanted me to show him how to use it (there being no real casters available). Having a couple of hours on Sunday, we decided to meet on the Clackamas River, near where I live, and give it a whirl. I worked with Rick for a while and then wandered upstream to give him room to practice. My friend Bill, another Hooknose Society member, was upstream fishing down through a likely run, and I stepped in behind him.

About 25 yards later, a nice native female, about five pounds, inhaled my General Practioner, and kept me thoroughly entertained for the next few minutes. What a thrill -- my first fishing effort of the millenium, my first drift, my first fish. Hope I haven't used up all my luck -- I'm not
used to this sort of fishing.

Wish I had my camera; I might have been even luckier and, at this moment, pouring through Juro's fly box looking for killers.

Cheers to all,

Eric
