juro Recently spoke with a very nice couple who are avid FF'ers (lucky guy!). I was dining with my wife and they happened to sit right next to us. They recommend the Kamalame hotel in the Bahamas because of it's all-around appeal with respect to accomodations, beautiful surroundings, and excellent bonefishing. His wife went out of her way to say that it was a wonderful place aside from the fishing, and that even got my wife interested in such a trip.

With so many options out there a first-hand testimonial from a couple helped convince us to look into it. Might be a good choice for you too.

Also try contacting Harry Koons of Nauset Angler about Casa Blanca, he is putting together a return trip down there after a great trip in November. He can offer first-hand advice and I believe his wife went too so you could get her perspective as well.

I've been to the Keys on three occasions but I would have to say that with a few exceptions like Bahia Honda State Park there are not a lot of beaches if that's what she would expect.

Good luck!

My all time favorite location is Exuma in the Bahamas. Peace and Plenty bonefish lodge is a great base for fishing. They also have kayaks and bikes. There's not much night life other than Georgetown but the fishing and the guides are great. Bob and karen Hyde run a terrific operation down there.

Favorite Vacation Spots?

My wife and I are looking to put together a relaxing caribbean vacation with some great flyfishing in the next 2-3 months. We were hoping to be able to take advantage of some of the great packages that are available at this time. I have just begun to look into the various options and was wondering if anyone has recomendations for places they have been and loved or of any "specials" that are available at this time.

I am an avid fly fisherman but my wife would probably only do several days of FF or half days each day...we also love to Kayak, Snorkel, Dive, Hike etc.and the more options available the better. (we are very flexible in our schedule and needs in a vacation)

I look forward to any suggestion you all might have.
Matt
