vtloon When my daughter was going to school out in Marquette, I fished the Whitefish and Escanaba a few times with moderate success. I relied on local advice and cross referenced a book: "Trout Streams of Michigan" by Janet D. Mehl and Co. which is very dry and business-like but pretty thorough in it's coverage.

Michigan advise

Hello all,
I'll be in Michigan on a family vaction the last week in June first week in July and I was wondering if there is anyone on the site that has some first hand experiance on the were's and the how's of the area. From what I can tell it looks like our timing sould be good for the famed Michigan Caddis (Hex) hatch. We'll be camping along the west coast then up into the U.P. (Pictured Rocks) then back down RT 75 into the Indian River / Grayling area. Any input on the trout and things to do w/ the family would be apprieciated.

Joe
