Wow, did I get an education.....
I am obviously out of my league here...just an old trout bum turned bonfish nut.
The rigging, once explained, was so simple, and obvious (or should have been)
that I am a little red-faced...not the first time...not the last......the rigs are really a gift for a guide friend down Abaco way, but thought as we planned a little in-shore, that I'd use my 12wt for the first time.......bottom line: 3 feet of shock (already on the pre-rigged skirts), 40/50 to the fly line, and 50lb , surgically inserted loop........it all makes sense now...local shop will put it together .....

LOOP d' LOOP
google "dan blanton"...he's got an article called "getting looped" that may be of interest...
also...there are books dedicated to the art of the knot and riggin' up for steroid enhanced fly fishing on-the-brink...
but, stand by to stand by...I suspect there will be "sound advice" to follow...

Leader to Line Connection ?
Here is the deal. My saltwater experience has been limited to bones a few missed Permit shots. I have taken a few sharks on my guides spin/monster reel set-ups. Heading to the Bahamas shortly. Bought a bunch of 130 and 100 pound pre-rigged trolling type set-ups. QUESTION: How in the heck, do you connect that to a 12wt floating line ? Is floating line out of the question ? Not looking for 1000 pound Marlin, just maybe a 100 sail, bull dolphin....whatever. Just cannot figure out the how to connect leader to line....given the significant difference in diameter...??? Clamps ? What size ? Thanks in advance
