nswallow I wish I could see those flys but I can't. Me and my cousin are hitting a little rest stop pond tomorrow morning first thing I'm hoping that I can get into one of those big carp. I'm just going to use a fly that looks something like a Cheeto. We'll see!!

zimflo. So why are they so un-popular in the U.S.? because from what Ive seen, their not verry easy to catch, they fight well, their huge most of the time.. ect lol. They are kinda ugly though..

FFA I have eaten them and they are not to bad at all. The reason Carp are in North America is that they were brought over from Asia for a food item for the Asian railroad workers. Of course they were first contained in ponds but it is amazing what happens when a flood comes along.

zimflo. Do you eat them?

FFA Up here in Manitoba the Carp are listed as a game fish species and are therefore only available to anglers during the regular season. It depends where you are fishing and what the regulations are.

FFA Season doesn't start until May 12. So I have a little while to wait. Should be able to get some biggies this year.

Quentin Very nice! Great photos too!

It's just about time to start chasing carp around here. When does the action start up your way?

FFA Dubbing is called Darkwater Dubbing. Makes a real nice effect on the flies. Has some holographic flash mixed in it.

New Carp flies

Tied a few of these up for Carp. Should work pretty good. A couple of caddis and a stonefly. Can't wait to try them out.

They may even take other species as well.
