Nice report Leland. Something unique and special about catching trout in the salt, especially on the surface!
Hope to hook up with you out there soon bro

I stepped into the water at 11:30am during the first half of the ebb. The water was cloudy from the rains and wind so I walked down the beach until I found clear water. As I worked my popper down the beach I turned over eight fish that looked to be nice searuns.
At exactly 12:30pm, the sky clouded over and a little breeze ruffled the water and a single fish jumped between 50 to 60 feet out. I covered the ring and got an immediate boil and grab. The next 12 casts produced 12 more fish. All struck straight out in the deep water in the first couple strips. All were beautifully marked searuns. All were well over 12 inches but not more than 18. All put up a great fight.
The action stopped at 1:15pm. and I went home a happy guy.
