Eric (Blush)

there's quite a bit about leaders here on the Forum. Just use the <SEARCH> function with "leader formula" and you'll get lots of hits.

I should have suggested this first,

Cheers,

Eric

teflon_jones I buy the tapered leaders and splice on more tippet with a blood knot when it gets too short. I start with 12 ft 7x leaders and use 7x tippet to replace what's lost.

Eric Hi, Scott,

I think most of us make our our leaders, and splicing on more tippet when the original gets too short is very common practice.

Google "leader formulas" and you should get lots of hits.

Here's one for starters: http://www.cvff.org/leaders.html

Good luck,

Eric
