teflon_jones The smallmouth is in this man's opinion the greatest freshwater gamefish ever created. Fights like a devil, smashes baits like a hammer, and jumps with the best of them. To top it off, it's found in some of the most beautiful places known to mankind. Heck, it may even top the great bonefish on my list of fish I'd most like to catch on a rod and reel...

Dble Haul Adrian-

Was this a kayak access spot, or were you able to get there by foot?

Either way, nice fish and good report.

Looking at the forecast I thought this week-end was going to be a bust. Then I checked the river report and it seems the big downpours missed the upper Housy and it was running clear. So, I packed the 7wt and headed up to a spot I havent fished for a couple of years since we got "run of river". When I last visited the entire stretch was dry but now has a good head of water and an even better head of fish. I managed the thread the needle between a bunch of big boulders to tempt this one:

Several more bronzebacks and a few rock bass rounded out the day. Plus I got some shots at a few huge carp but couldn't connect today. I'll definitely be back there when the sun eventually comes out
