arubaman When I was 3 months old my parents immigrated from the Netherlands to Aruba, a well known paradise for people who like lousy holidays on the beach. Fishing and water have always interested me when I was growing up there. The methods where different from the ones western people would consider the usual. Once I came to Holland to study it took some time to start fishing here. I started with lures and deadbait, but eventually got into flyfishing. As I probably am the only Arubian (originally dutch, but I consider myself Arubian) on most forums and I am proud of my island i started using the nickname "Arubaman" on all the fishingforums. And how funny it is, I still think I am the only Arubian flyfisherman (never heard of another one). Jeff confirmed this about half a year ago, as I was on the island I was chasing the ghosts on the best known flat off the island. We talked to each other and he immediatly asked me if I happen to be Arubaman

So that was a confirmation that I had choosen a good nickname matching my roots.

1-as in cheeseHead, pothead (no drugs here), shovelhead, knucklehead, ironhead, panhead, bonehead, fathead, blockhead, fishhead!
B-The english translantion for my eBay handle -Kalapaa- Finnish for fishhead without the little dots over the last two a's-pronounce the first two a's as in Father and the last two as in cat. Finland is a beautiful country with a beautiful language. And some nice fish though I only got to try it once on ice!

shadfreak American Shad, you just have to love any fish that fights that hard 125 miles inland after a month or more of not eating.

Wee Hooker Used to have a VERY beat up 1962' 17' runabout that was gutted, modified and generally kludged up. . It was aptly named the Ugly Hooker. When I sold it to get into something new , sweet but smaller( for estuary fishing,) I named the new 14 skiff the Wee Hooker.

acklinsboy Had the good fortune to be born the best place on earth; Acklins.

Moved away at birth. Spent some summers, knew little to nothing of the Island. Got reconnected five years ago, built a cottage two years past.

The rest is history!

I now walk bare-feet on the street of Delectable Bay looking for adventure, hence the name 'Acklinsboy.'

If God did not take vacations, why did He made these island?

macrostigma Hello,
Macrostigma ..................... what means this term ???????
Salmo trutta macrostigma is an endemic specie of salmo trutta in corsica, the country where I live in .......
As you can see, my english lessons are far away ;-)
I live in Ajaccio in corsica (little Island near the coasts of France) since 5 years.
I'm 29 years old, father of a little "Clarisse" .........
There is no salmons here, only wild trouts that provide great flyfishing moments ....
If you are interested in this little part of our world, you can email me .....
And I'll respond them as welle as I can, with my old institutionnal english ;-)
