|Toobroke||Well, I had been keeping an eye on ebay, doing research on and off again on the net, looking at sales catalogs and finally decided that the White River Ultralight was the way for me to go. Just yesterday I emailed Bass Pro to send me some info. Last night I was bored and went to the Orvis website and they made up my mind for me for me: All CFOs are on sale for 40% off until 28 Feb. I ordered a CFO I and a CFO II (have picked up a Superfine 4 wt blank since I started this post)|

|Eddie||Ross will be making an inexpensive reel this year (around a hundred bucks) that should fit the bill. It will be like the cimeron, but cast(as opposed to machined) and made in England (as opposed to the USA). I suspect it will be made at the same factory (Orvis owned) that makes the Battenkill reels (as well as some Scientific Anglers, LL Bean and others). I don't know if they are already at shops (I haven't seen one yet).|

Nice handle first of all!
I had the Battenkill disc drag for a few years and it was quite the little gem! You can't go wrong with it and the price won't dent your wallet either! A good reel if you decide to go with it!

If you are not set on a large arbor reel, the Orvis Battinkill BBS is a very nice reel. It is around 3.6 oz. and reasonably priced for a quality reel. I got one for my short 4 weight and it balances very well.
If you are set on a LA, you would probably need to look at a Ross Evolution or Sage 3000 series. But these will run you much more money!

Reel advise wanted-2 wt
I have just picked up an Orvis Superfine 2 weight blank for a rod I'm going to build. Have never fished with anything lower than a 5 wt and am looking for a lightweight reel to put on it. I have Orvis Rocky Mt large arbors on both rods I currently fish with (5/8 wt Clearwaters) and love them, but don't think I'm going to find anything (affordable) as far as a mid/large arbor that weigh around 3 ounces. I'm an Orvis fan, but am open to any/all suggestions. Any recommendations out there?
