Getting ready for action...
Coho on the fly in the saltchuck is clearly the most under-rated angling venue in the states IMHO. But it won't be for long! People are getting into it at unprecedented rates. Gone are the days of being the only one at Sekiu flyfishing! I took the ridicule from other boats in stride but took the pleasure of really hamming it up when they could see that I'd hooked up with a slab fall coho on the fly. Those days were just a few years ago... the fishery is still in it's infancy and there's worlds of discovery out there.
We're talking about big chrome bright ocean salmon attacking flies viciously and fighting pound for pound like tarpon. Then when it comes alongside it's a wild ocean salmon. What could compare to that!
I'll be all over that fishery later in the month with friends from our Pacific Northwest members.... CAN'T WAIT!!
