flytyer OC,

You mean those special lines and flies you copied from others won't work anywhere but N. Korea? Or is it more a matter of one needs to have instruction in the proper use of them from you or your guides in order to take full advantage of the superiority of your system? And hey, the best part of these special trips of yours to the last, great place to fish for steel is the land mines will keep the posseurs away.

KerryS I think some of these guys have been into the brown dubbing.....

OC Sinktip,

Yes that is somewhat true about me discovering that very important fishery. But please give the credit to Kim Il Sung. He and I fished together along with Jane Fonda after her and me visited another North country many years ago. Jane and I were in a feverish romance at the time and decided to stop in and see some friends of hers. Well her friend was Mr Sung and he was going on a fishing trip with his girl friend so he invited us. He showed us the fish but I promoted the resource sort of like that guide from the PNW has done with the Chum fishery over on the Hood, what ever you call that place. I thought to myself why not copy this PNW guide after all he is a legend in his own time. So I have copied and my schools of no more than 6 people are the greatest thing that has come down any river North of P'anmunjon-ni in many years.

Yes I have copied as many fly lines and flies off of other guides and designers as possible. And yes I promote them as if they are mine, Why not? I make money on them, Right? Try some they are just the ticket to success. Put that merchandise together along with my school and you can only loose your Korean steel virginity. I will teach you how to pick up fish properly also and you are going to need that after all the N. Korean steel you land after hanging out with me.. I would give my site address but

sinktip OC,

Didn't you single handedly discover the Korean steel fishery? I know you would never brag about these things but I bet you and your guides have some trick flies and lines for that fishery that really get it done.

And I know you already have your signature hat

You are not far from North Korea. They have a great unknown steelhead run in their northern rivers. I have 5 guides working for me over there right now. Jump on over and give it a try. Bring your own food though and some for the guides. They also provide fly fishing schools with as few as 6 people per class. You might want to try one of these schools.

jjohnson Hey at least you guys are in a land that have steelhead in them. I am in the land of Cherry salmon all week on very short notice to say the least. I am meeting up with a friend of a friend for dinner whom is a fly fisherman to talk fishing and maybe check out a Japanese fly shop.

At least it isn't raining.

KerryS OC,

I hear your concerns over the Rain Goddess. But, right now anything called goddess in a warm clime weighing in at around 130 pounds and wearing body floss would do me fine. You guys can head into the jungle I'm headin' for the beach.

Yo Oc...

just like Hunter S would have done.
If your emulating Mr. Thompson, I hope you don't have any hitch hikers riding your shoe laces when you come through Customs on your return from points South.

Brian Simonseth I would love to see you two go South for winter maybe you guys can get you’re heads back together (and take a couple friends with)?

Fire in the Rain...

Hey OC I have had some sucess using tank mount flamethrowers for building fires in green jungle habitat in my youth.
The river levels are dropping in Northern California no airmiles needed!
12-13-2004 04:23 PM
andre Well I guess we should just head farther south. The Steelies in Chile should be running not much like skating a dry in December.

OC Don't feel bad Mike. Just think about what mind Hunter S has left! I'm now thinking Belem Brazil for a chance at the worlds record Tarpon. Looks like a truely evil city a place where old steelheaders like most of us would need to be on our toes day and night. Like I say build a fire and stay awake the whole trip just like Hunter S would have done.

Yo OC...

While reading your posts with all this talk of climes to the South, my mind (what's left of it) drifted back to Hunter S Thompson and his story "The Great Shark Hunt".
