|gammarus||I was trying to find the posting for the couples clave but couldn't. The stormy season is usually during September and October. We usually travel in November because it is after the storm season but before the prices go back up in December. Cold fronts can come in but they pass just as quickly and I'm not sure if they have all that much effect so far South. The only difference in the fishing is caused by the high tides. Fishing along the mangroves on the incoming and outgoing tides produces fabulous action. An 9 weight is sometimes needed to keep the bones out of the mangroves and adds to the excitement. Also the biggest fish are present at that time of year along with more Permit than you would expect. I'm starting to sound like a brochure from a lodge. Our other favourite time to travel is May for similar reasons.|

|juro||Funny you mention it! We are hoping to have a "couples clave" next year and Stella Maris is not a bad choice. However isn't November the stormy season in the Carribean?|

Travel companions wanted
My wife and I are an early 30's couple looking for others to join our trips. We travel twice a year to the tropics for sun and fun bringing our girls one trip and going alone another. The kids are both under 3 at present. I am a flyfishing nut, she could care less. We are both novice divers. We will only be making one trip next year (no kids allowed), to Stella Maris resort on Long Island in the Bahamas, in November. It's not booked yet and we can switch to renting a house if others want to come along. Going as a group can cut the cost down, although we don't want to get too cheap. Sharing a guide for a couple of days and then DIY for a couple, with some diving/snorkelling, etc is the ticket.
