5th spey fish is the best

Well, after our discussions here, I spent three days on the salmon river and I'm proud to say, I did not touch my running line, I did however fish a variety of nymphs and eggs. After hooking, but not landing four fish for the trip, it was slow the entire river, I was in the paradise pool in the upper fly zone. I had reserved myself to the knowledge that I was going home without landing a fish in three days and hooking fish only briefly. I put the type three tip on and a #2 orange popsicle with a black collar and started bombing it out there. 15 minute later I had a destinctive pull---pull--pull, I lifted the rod, and the fish went balistic wrapping my line across two boulders and headed for the tree. I somehow got my line out of the boulders and managed to land the fish after 10 minutes. a 30 inch slender beauty, chrome silver with a blushed cheek and the faintest stripe along the side. After pictures I released the fish and with a swish of the tail, she slipped into the pool. I reeled up and headed home. Doesn't get any better. It was my fifth fish on my spey and the first fall run.
