Tricos

Thanks for the reply. I got my info from Jim Schollmeyer's Hatch Guide for Western Streams and he lists the hatch from July-October and a web-site that claimed the hatch begins in August. But when I saw the upright wings, I thought they must be Trico.

Thanks again.

Tricos

I am not familiar with the Feather, but on the Fall River in NE Shasta County, CA, tricos hatch all season.

trico???

I was fishing the middle fork of the feather river last week (mid-June) and found lots of bugs kinda look like tricos. These are very small - maybe 3mm - with upright wings. Problem is, documentation I have describes tricos hatching in July or August. Could these have been midges?
