|Hawkeye||I think I have the 17lb and have had some "slinky" problems. I tie a loop in the leader connection end and attach the leader to the loop with a clinch knot - no problems there. To the fly I use a clinch knot and have had problems but have discovered that if I carefully/gently cinch the clinch knot and only really tighten it up close to the eye I lose the "slinky" effect. After a few blues the coating is chewed off and I get the "slinky" effect so I just clip off the slinky and retie. All in all I am really satisfied with the stuff.|

|JimW||What size are you using? I picked up the 26lb and have been having some problems with the wire to fly knot. The perfection loop on the wire to leader side works out great but my uni-knot,clinch, palomar, and rapala loop all give me a twizzle effect. I'm not knocking the product just looking for a little assistance on get it attached to the fly without making a slinky toy out of my leader. I have used 80lb mono with success (non-ff). How low can you go on the wire? Does the 17lb tie any easier?|

American Wire Co.
With the toothy guys already around the cape, I thought I'd mention the good results I've had with AWC leaders. It comes in a range of diams and with care is just the ticket for FF.
Leader to wire - surgeon's knot
Wire to fly - cautious clinch or figure 8 in large diams
anyone have notes to share on the fly knot?
