RE:Silverside/Sandeel pattern

I can just look at it and know that the fly is a tunoid terror! Nice pattern, very castable design too.

BTW - your swap entries were very impressive as well...

(will be scanning the full set of swapper flies soon)

Silverside/Sandeel pattern

Hook: Daiichi 2546 #2-
Thread: Whatever you like, I used white flat waxed

Starting at the hook going up.
==================================
wrap hook shank with pearl bodi-braid leaving room near the eye to tie in materials

1. Fine bucktail or fishair (white)

2. A few strands of fine bucktail (olive)

3. A small clump of polafibre (olive) be sure to pull out all the fuzz.

All the materials are tied in very close to the eye of the hook. Once all of the above materials are tied in apply a small amount of Loon waterbased head finish to the head and using your fingers smooth back over materials to the bend of the hook. You don't need much of the head finish, just enough to make the materials tacky. Let dry for a couple minutes. Tie in 3 strands of Flashabou tinsel #6901 at the head. While holding the tinsel away from the fly in one hand apply a small amount of cement to the tinsel on the side it will contact the fly. Continue to hold the tinsel by the end and carefuly position it between the white and green layers of the fly. Finish the head add eyes and fish.

Not my pattern just one I copied.
