Haloween Spey

Halloween Spey

One of the various color combinations I play around with on my spey style flies. This one looks good in the water and resulted in a couple of hookups this winter for a buddy of mine. Given how few and far between fish were this year, I think it speaks well for the pattern.

Hook: Alec Jackson Spey or Tiemco 7999 or similar
Thread: Black 3/0 Danville
Tail: none
Tag: Oval god tinsel
Body: Black Floss
Rib: Gold oval tinsel
Hackle: Orang spey hackle followed by black spey hackle (front 1/3 only)
Wing: Ringneck pheasant neck feather dyed purple
