great hatches

Poked around some northeastern MA streams on saturday to see what changes the winter had imposed. Spotted a couple of fish and was denied (they were practically moving in slow motion) but I did witness a great hatch of sizable (18) bwo's. Micro stones hatched all day as well and I even rooted up a gigantic cased caddis that was about 2" long out of the case. Have never seen caddis larve of this size here in NE, even in the western freestone rivers. All in all a poor day of catching but a great day of fishing.
