jfbasser I believe that some units are available now with "castable" transducers. Just watch the screen and "sight" fish in the dark. No invisible waders needed.

kush John,

Does that "shorefinder" reside at the CAC? Or is it called a "Juro"?

Eddie I would not get the "blue", if you are fishing the shallower water. I have a 240, and it's pretty good.

jfbasser The 100 comes with a transducer without the temp sensor.

Lowrance= Winston/Scott/Sage

Garmin=Loomis

Humminbird=Temple Fork

Eagle= made by Lowrance with slightly less quality

Roop No advice in that price range but would suggest you make sure to see if there is any additional cost for the transducer.

Slinger Check out the Eagle Silver Striker. Got one last summer for $229 on sale, now they`re down to $125, comes with speed and temp sensor. I`m very happy with mine.

Fishfinder Help

I'm thinking about purchasing a fishfinder for my parents boat. I've narrowed it down (for cost reasons) to either the Garmin 100, Garmin 100Blue, or the Humminbird Piranha 5. Not sure if I really need the upgrad to the Blue model, as most of the fishing we do is in <200 ft of water.

Anyone have any suggestions? Ideally, I'd love to be around $100, but I'm willing to head up to around $150. Do the Garmin models come with the transducer? I haven't seen a straight answer to this question anywhere.

Nick
