Sponge spiders

These sponge spiders are simply thin strips of closed cell foam tied onto the hook shank and trimmed to shape. The legs are left on the long side....it's easier to trim back long legs than it is to lengthen short legs.

The best sizes for these are 8 and 10 (like those pictured below) for panfish and 4 and 6 for smallmouths and smaller largemouths.
