Black Nosed Dace

Again, not my pattern, but another 'standard streamer' everyone should know.

Hook: Mustad 6575 Streamer (size 8)
Tail: White/Dark-Brown (or Black) bucktail
Body: Threadbase and Silver Tinsel

Optional: Reflective eye sticker

Tie thread base down entire shank. Secure one end of silver floss and tie base again up to eye.

Wrap tinsel to form alternating Black/Silver pattern along shank of hook.

Tie in clump of white bucktail. Tie over it a larger clump of dark-brown(or black) bucktail. Make sure bucktail does not extend to far past end of hook and is uniform in length with a quick tapering off.

Tie thread around to form uniform, clean circular head.

(optional, add reflective eye stickers to either side of head)

Tie off and laquer head together.

I have had a few nibbles on this pattern up in the northern streaches of the Connecticut River. Beyond that, no success.
