Vince I was there Wednesday afternoon and thursday morning. Wednesday was on fire. Had the spey rod out and managed to hook some nice fish, including one bright steelie.

I was fishing the flats on Wednesday afternoon--plan was to go in there and work all the way down to the meadow. We never got that far as fish were on the move and action was pretty steady until we had to leave to make the 7pm closing.

Thursday was slower but managed to hook a few more then. Not many fish coming in however.

Your dead on Jim ...It's been a few years since I've made an early trip. It's a crap shoot as to how many fish are in the system but it sure is a hoot when you hit it right...

Salmon River report

Made my first trip up to the Salmon, fished low on the river w/ the spey rod.
Lots of fish moving through mostly kings but a few bright coho mixed in.
Hooked a massive king that expoded on a black bunny leach, great to see the take. It will probably get a little crazy up there by the weekend nice to shake off some cobwebs.
Can't wait till Nov, when all the crazy's are done
