Bigcat Basser I know, that's why I took the boat out this morning.
I only burn Bell Road. LOL
Camera phones SUX, this morning this girl bottomed out my boga 43-44 inches, got to be close to 35-40#?
Tossed back 3, 30#, and a fly caught 34 incher

I took the pixs down because of the real low quality, camera phones bite (:

jfbasser Next time don't burn the canal and then complain that you don't have any space as it gets toward the weekend. It is very easy to burn the canal by just mentioning it's global productivity . Then more of the Planet shows up and a few will always be at UDL as part of the random process of picking specific spots.

Bigcat I went out this morning to do some plugging, the place just got to crowed for me.
I shot home and grabbed my 10wt and hit a UDL on the West End, fish started breaking out of fly rod range but I did get a 25 incher, three more casts I come tight and then nothing, I tangled with the only bluefish in the canal.
That was it for me, I only came out with one fly
Yes there are fish around but it is thinning out.
I am taking the boat out tomorrow the banks are to crowed for me.

Truth be told, I embellished the story at Juro's expense. Juro didn't turn green and he was being prudent, not yanking the hook out despite my prodding.

Have things calmed down in the canal? It'd be nice if some of those fish have dispersed into CC bay by tommorow morning.

Fred- as they say in the boating/fishing industry promos..."Take me with you"....I live for pulling out fish hooks....just don't spurt blood on my waders (insert sound of Juro's head hitting the deck after fainting)

P.S. PLEASE don't hook an eyeball....even I have to draw the line somewhere!

juro haha

yeah coming from a family of doctors (I fell far from the tree) I was often told "who knows better you or a real doctor?"

When I saw that hook I heard those words in my head and that familiar flush of nausea.

Of course we could have attached the tow rope and punched the throttle from the other boat....

Bigcat Ah the good old days, I was going through a box of photos and found that picture

FredA Ah the memories. Had to make a trip to the er because Juro wouldn't pull the hook out. I was defouling my fly as we drifted through the waqoit channel. The fly line had found it's way overboard, engine started and drive engaged to get us away from the rocks and wala, I had a new piercing. It was a beefy hook and we didn't have cutters that would cut the pointy end off. I told juro to "just pull it out" and he turned a shade of green.

I probably won't be able go. With all the internet chatter about the Ditch it may be too burned and crowded this weekend and I have to stay away from crowds

Cape Cod Canal

The Canal has been going off all week... big time!. It might be worth a look see on your way down the cape.
