To be honest I did not like it with the motor because the craft does not balance well when the sole operator is sitting close to the rear to operate the spindle. It's a little better with the casting deck in for forward weight but the real sweet spot is in the beamiest part and it's a pleasure to row.
I had the best time with it paddling around on Walden Pond and White Pond with trout rising around me, standing and casting much better than a canoe.
It also is a great river boat (no rapids) with oars, I have rowed easily up-current on the Nashua River for miles and had a pleasant float down not unlike my old Clackacraft driftboat and reminiscent of floating the great steelhead rivers out west.
It's not much good in ocean waves but on salt ponds and estuaries it would be fantastic.
May it bring you many days of pleasure Sean.

Thanks again Juro.
Resting nicely in the garage waiting for the first spring day. She may get a permanent home down by the boat ramp for a little weeknight fishing in Greenwich cove. Now to find someone with a spare weedwacker!

HAHA the weedwacker! It is a sweet little rig.
The dory is now in very good hands. I bet it even gets shined up regularly now

|JimW||That's the one with the weed wacker motor isn't it. I remember getting a lift to my boat at a bone clave. I also remember Juro pulling up to Washburn with a ton of gear, that's a great boat.|

Man....if I were a little closer & a lot quicker!
That would make a great mooring tender!
would work for floating the salmon river too!
Very nice Juro!

Left you a voicemail. I can come tonight if we think it will fit in my Tacoma. How wide is it? Might be able to strap it to my boat trailer which is currently empty.

Free Dory / Canoe
If you or your friend can remove this from my yard in Groton MA in the next 24 hours it's yours. Another canoe goes with it, will not separate.
Square stern for motor and oar locks for rowing. Nice stand-up craft for flyfishing. The other canoe is fiberglass.
