Eddie This a guess because I am not familiar with that reel, but if it works with a 5wt floater, a 6wt int would probably not take up more space. If it is still too tight, cut off whatever you can't cast off the back of the line.

jimS You could, but it would compromise the amount of backing on your reel. If the Loch Nest Monster ever appeared, you'd be toast. Adequate backing is good insurance for the, what if.

fly reel size

i have an hardy angel 4/5 reel on an angel 9'#5 rod and was wondering could i use a #6 intermediate line for resovoir fishing with this outfit succesfully?
