Light weight rod

I just finished my first rod and really enjoyed building it. I'm now looking for a light weight blank for my second project. What I would like is a 1 wt. or maybe 2 (the lighter the better) in a 6'6" length. This doesn't need to be a high end rod, just short casts to small fish, in fact the more economical the better. I would also like a 3 or 4 piece. I know sage makes some nice ones in this range but that's way out of my price range.
For this rod I would also like to turn up my own handle and reel seat insert.
I've also heard of using ultralight spin blanks for this I'm open to that idea too.

Thanks
