FishHawk This used to happen more frequently in the past but the manufactures are now building reel seat to a standard. I would contact H&H about this. You have two choices. Remove the handle or file the reel seats. FishHawk

HELP...Wrong reel seat?

I got my IM7 kit from hook and hackle and started building it. I got the reel seat together and on the blank and the handle glued on. After that I thought I would try putting the reel I was going to use on it. The reel feet don't fit properly. It's an uplocking reel seat and the front/top hood seems like it's made for a reel with a wider thinner foot, the back/bottom one fits better but it still looks like it's made for a wider foot, I tried 3 different reels but all the same. Can anyone explain this to me, did I screw something up, or are there different types of reel feet out there?

thanks
