Not to be confused with the double figure 8 loop.

Double surgeon's just a good IMHO.

Steve Huff double figure 8 loop knot?

Anyone have any info on this knot? I've seen a bunch of references to it, and it's apparently documented in Trey Combs Bluewater Flyfishing book, but the book is out of print (paperback reprint coming out next month though).

I'm looking for a good loop knot for securing the fly to heavy (80lb) flouro shock tippet, so any suggestions in addition to the Huff knot are welcome.
