24-7 Bryce:

The Albright Knot is certainly OK for use in a leader line connection. It is strong, but unfortunately bulky. If your fishing practises rarely bring the leader line connection past the tip top or if your using sink tips and therefore short leaders, the Albright is fine. Larger guides, hayfork and/or oversized tip tops are the ticket. This knot is also popular to attach line to backing. I use a nail knot but I've heard some SW anglers prefer it because of its strength. In any event, always finish the knot with a modified clinch knot to create a ramp or taper to it's otherwise abrupt end.

Albright Knot- Fly Line to Leader

Hey guys. I just picked up some new leader and was curious about something. I know the recommended knot for tying fly line to leader is the Nail knot, but could you also use an Albright knot? Thanks.
