Death march

With the rip trip cancelled, Jen and I had planned on doing an early AM assault on the outer beaches Saturday. We ended up making the death March to the Whacky Jetty, and our timing could not have been worse. Bright sun (what the $%** happened to the snotty weather they promised?), no fish, and bait chuckers packed in on the rocks. Fished the whole beach on the walk out and a little on the way back. No hits, no runs, no errors. Jen did exceptionally well with the 9 wt. (first time using anything but the 7 wt.)

I learned later that the blitz had been on at this very spot not 3 hours prior to our arrival (near first light). Lesson learned: If it's August and you've over slept, go play golf.
