Dble Haul Your loop to loop idea sounds pretty sound to me. Any other line to leader knots that I'm aware of will probably cut into the silk.

Connections For Silk Line

I just reveived a new silk flyline for my Bamboo rod. Right now I am going through the process of greasing it prior to starting the break in process.

My question is:

What are the recommended knots/methods used for flyline to leader connections for silk lines.

I have read that the traditional nail knot will cut into silk....unfortunately.....no alternatives were suggested.

I am thinking of making a small loop in the end, tying it off with silk fly tying thread, and coating with Pliobond. This will let me use aloop-to-loop connection.

I would really appreciate any suggestions you may have. Thanks in advance.
