Shop in Beverly

Jim-sent you a private message about a nice shop in Beverly I've been to before- very helpful folks there when I went. Grew up on the North Shore; now live on the Cape. Fair number of regulars on this board who live and fish the North Shore area, so wouldn't hurt to post dates/places you're planning to fish to see if anyone from the Forum would be willing to hook up with you. Being a relative newbie myself, I can say in all honesty that the folks I've encountered through this Forum have been responsible for the majority of my salt water fly fishing knowledge. They're a great group.

Smcdermott Jim,

No personal knowledge of that area but if I were you I would visit your local fly shop. I have heard great things about the guys at First Light in Rowley.

neck4752 Im right near salem. You guys know any good areas to work the fly rod around here? Plus I dont know what I should be using for flies. And I think my casting is a bit off and I may be forming bad habits.

FishHawk Jim you'll have to give us more information than that. We all fish the Northeast.

First Time Fly Fisher

Alright guys I love fishing, and Live in MA and love stripers too. I bought a fly rod because I heard it is addictive and great for catching stripers. Only problem is I aint catching nothing. Is it the flies im using maybe? Or my technique? I have an 8wt. rod.
Please any info is appreciated.
