Earth Day alive.

Well Earth Day is here again, what 35 years now? Does not get the coverage it used to get and it definetly does not get the 100 million people world wide celebrating it like it did 15 years ago.

Did you know that the environmental movement out spent the anti environmental movement last year close to 3 to 1? Yup 850 million to 300 million yet the we have lost ground on so many fronts. There is great debate on why and many think it is a lack of unity on major fronts by the many organizations involved.

There is a new movement out there, one only has to go the Rocky Mountain West and our beautiful open lands of the South West to see it and feel what is happening. Grass roots organizations are croping up everywhere and dealing with local problems. Amazingly the time has come where conservative by nature, ranchers and farmers have joined or formed environmental grass root groups to protect their interests from the power base so wanting to change the American rural culture.

Thought I'd introduce you to one such group who has done some amazing things to restore land and water to a far more healthy place to live and work. There are many good links on the page also to show how the grass root movement is really begining to take hold. I see hope on some fronts and this is one of them.

I'd love for our members to tell us about the grass roots organization they belong to and what types of problems and what great things they have accomplished this last year or so.

Have a good earth year!
