I've been stmping around the country side for a while in that very area. The Bostonnais River runs just north of the town of La Tuque and I fished there a while. There are some nice outfitters in the area too. Haven't been down for a few years though.

You'd be pretty suprised at the road access in the area now as the logging shows have opened up lots of areas.

Dble Haul Hey, you could be a trend setter.

fcch DH,

Not yet. That's all I need, ... another passion to pursue.

The Ste-Marg isn't a really big river. Some nice lies for spey casting, but not always. Many find I'm overgunned with a 10ft rod already (but I love it).

Dble Haul Welcome.

Judging by your fishing preferences, you may also want to check out speyclave.com (if you haven't already). A link to that site is available at the top of each page here on Flytalk.

Hello, Nice place

Just a short note to say hello.

I found this forum a bit by accident and browsed around some. Like the Atlantic Salmon Forum very much. The scope and depth of the forums is also nice.

I'm up in central Quebec (about 5 hours from Montreal or 3 hours from Quebec City).

Originally from British Columbia (Kamloops Region), I've been in Quebec since 1988. I've been fly fishing most of my life, but really only got into it in the last 15 years.

My home waters are on the Ste-Marguerite River in the Saguenay. (you can link to my home waters from my personal page).
Me and the family love this river 'cause we can go after Salmo Salar, Searun Brookies, peace 'n quiet, all 45 minutes from the house.

I've been part time guiding on the river for several years ever since the pro guide service folded. My real job is as a forestry engineer, but that's just to pay for fishing

Anyway, I don't think it's courteous to visit without saying hi, so there you are.
