Hawkeye I believe that is the bottom but I am not sure as Mike is the mechanic and I'm pretty much a gofer and cleaner. We didn't do any of that other stuff as we most certainly do not need more HP. At WOT I am fairly certain we could take flight with only a slight chop as it is. We didn't need to take anything else apart to speak of and we have a heat exchanger so no salt in the engine.

JimW gregg,
What are we looking at there, the bottom of the intake manifold?

Nice clean up, too bad it happened to you guys though. I'll bet you took advantage of the situation and planed the heads, tweaked the cam, etc.... gaining many HP's

Do you need to break down the lower end too? Does saltwater run directly through the water jacket or is there a heat exchanger?

Blown Head Gasket

We blew a head gasket at the Bone Clave this year.

This is what the inside of your engine looks like with a blown head gasket and what it will look like after a good deal of time with rags, towels and q-tips.
