Juro,

I'd be glad to help if I can.

Oh, I see. That's a nice location - quick to the Swift, Wachusett area, down to Rhody for a dose of the brine, etc.

Perhaps you could help a few of us desalinate this spring in some of the central and western Mass streams and stillwaters you know?

Webster is about 25 miles east of me. Wales is just west of Holland.

That makes your stonefly discovery all the more satisfying to hear! I guess it won't be long now.

Say aren't you near Lake Webster (Chabungamungamaugmaunaugbungamaugamung)? I just *gotta* get one of those bumper stickers!

Juro,

If you call 20 inches of snow evasion, you are correct!!!

Greg -

Makes me wonder how you fared in the nor'easter? Sounds like you evaded it pretty well?

Juro,

March Browns, I haven't found in my brook. The typical timing for them here in NE is much later in the season, May/June.

These early stones will continue for quite a while on warmer days. There may also be some midges over the next month/month and a half, but that's about it.

TinMan,
I live out in Wales, MA.

What's the hatch calendar look like in your neck of the woods? I suppose march browns next? Gnats?

Early Black Stoneflies - hatching today

When I returned home about 6:30 PM, I noticed a couple of little black stoneflies on the door to my house. These are the first sited this year. The hatches have officially started!!!!
